Denholm Receives Nelson 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award

We are thrilled that EAP alum Paul Denholm of National Renewable Energy Laboratory is one of the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award Winners! In its announcement of the 2019 recipients, the Nelson Institute explained the impact he has had on the science of renewable energy integration.

For more than fifteen years, Paul Denholm has been transforming the way utilities look at renewable energy…His contributions have benefited academic researchers and industry in topics ranging from integration of solar and wind energy in today’s power grid to transitioning the nation to 100% renewable energy systems.

In response to his nomination, Denholm acknowledged the role EAP played in his career.

My background was very technical, but in order to do analysis I needed to understand the social and economic pieces as well. EAP afforded me that opportunity. This award recognizes that opportunity and my continued efforts down an interdisciplinary path.
