From September 21 – 22, EAP will partner with the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and Howard University to host the conference: Energy, Fire, and Changing Landscapes – Satellite Applications. The conference will focus on how satellite data can improve our ability to manage wildfires and energy infrastructure in a changing climate. The conference will bring together academic, industry, government, and non-profit leaders to learn how satellites can assist with wildfire risk mitigation from power systems and minimize impacts on vulnerable communities. Major themes include Satellite wildfire detection/smoke, Wildfires and Energy demand, Wildland/Urban Interface, Grid Operations and wildfire risk, Environmental Justice, and Climate resilience.
